Human Resources OfficerJob Definition Leads, directs & motivates employees & managers while communicating school policies, practices, procedures, programs, core values & code of business conduct Designs, plans, and implements human resources programs policies, practices and objectives that will provide maximum efficiency of employees & overall work environment HR also ensures compliance of HR practices with school standards Utilizes personal experience, judgmental abilities, extensive knowledge & familiarity with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures to accomplish school mission, vision, strategies & objectivesGeneral Responsibilities Communicate all school policies that address employee issues Educate staff about policies, procedures, and job descriptions Design, plan, and implement presentations and training for employees with regard to policies, procedures, job descriptions, and other work-related needs Ensure staff compliance with contracts, job descriptions, policies, procedures, and government regulations Assist in the recruitment of all staff including advertising, promotion of available positions, and working with the Director in determining staffing needs and conducting interviews as needed Oversee the process of obtaining work and residency permits, registration of all staff with government tax authorities and other relevant government bodies to ensure legal employment and compliance with all labour laws Ensure compliance with school s staff evaluation policies and procedures Maintain employment records in an approved, comprehensive format, both electronically and in hard-copy Ensure the safe-keeping and security of all employment files including original documents as well as copies of professional development courses and fees paid for these Assist in the development of employee-related policies and procedures, making recommendations for changes based on experience, government requirements, market research, and more Work with the Accounting Department and Head of Security to implement Staff Disciplinary policy and procedures as needed Liaise with other departments; line managers & staff members to ensure proper implementation of standards, policies, procedures, norms and values to insure compliance with the school process and procedures Tesolve conflicts between staff members, including between line managers and those that report them Recommend corrective or disciplinary actions to the Director Work with the Accounting Department in terms of developing and implementing a school budget with regards to staffing Communicate with government authorities and school lawyers to inform and seek advice and consultation regarding employment issues Approve payroll documents with the Accounting Department to ensure correct payment and any deductions that may need to occur Keep strict confidentiality of employee information of all types Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director
