Job Description

Audit Liaison and AP SME Lead (OCN) ( MID000122 )



Under broad direction performs a full range of duties related to Audit support and AP SME for Middle East in support of operations with computerized accounting systems

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES Please list by order of priority and, if possible, provide the percentage of time spent on the activity all should equal 100 PERCENT

1 Overall financial compliance including review of financial procedures and practices to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements

2 Interfaces with internal and external auditors

3 Other financial-related duties including consulting with senior management and functional managers regarding financial-related activities; develop and implement financial controls; conduct financial reviews of program areas to include internal reviewsaudits of processes and procedures; prepare and analyze various financial reports like AP RIP Accrual, during quarterly close run various reports and validate payments made after cutoff and if they should have been accrued Then communicate this information to HQ for inclusion in Topsdie entry if required, and; other duties as required

4 Provide HQ with any information needed regarding Kuwait or US vendors, preparing reports and data to be submitted to HQ so they can upload

5 Respond to all Auditors request by obtaining, providing the detail and backup for any audit transaction for accounting

6 Communicate with vendors to make sure that they are submitting the correct data, prepares various reports and statements

7 Follow up with Procurement and Subcontract for any errors that occur when processing the invoices and help trouble shoot

8 Performs other related duties as required


Must be able to use a desktop and laptop computer with ease, MS Office applicationsOther material andor equipment necessary to successfully complete the job, such as calculator, tools, phone, vehicle, etc


1 Office environment 48 hr work week; Overtime may be required

2 Required to observe all safety and health requirements for office environment

3 Must have professional appearance, consistent with local customs

EducationCertifications One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required

Requires a Bachelor degree in Accounting or similar discipline


Approximately seven to ten years of progressively more responsible general accounting, accounts payable and finance experience, preferably in the government contracting sector or related industry


1 Extensive knowledge of US and international accounting standards, accounting principles and practices Knowledge of international audit standards is a plus

2 Working knowledge of management accounting fundamentals and demonstrated ability to apply that knowledge

3 Working knowledge of best practices in the professional field of accounting

4 Working knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and general ledger processing, and their inter-relationships

5 Thorough understanding and working knowledge of accounting specific software, AS400 or Jamis preferred

6 Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel

7 Requires ability to communicate in English, both verbally and written, at an intermediate or advanced level
