POSITION SUMMARY

The CBRN Section Chief is responsible for providing leadership along with daily oversight, direction, and guidance concerning the operations of the CBRN Equipment Section, and compliance with the requirements of the PWS Army Regulations, Policies, and Directives

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES

Performs daily supervisory tasks covering all of the administrative activities
Coaches staff daily, conducts training and continuous improvement
Prepares performance appraisals as required
Ensures employees are informed of and use safe work practices
Prepares, coordinates and distributes maintenance schedules, maintains scheduled service records and technical equipment calibration schedule
Ensures CBRN equipment is operational and ready for issue
Monitors repair parts usage to determine if current stock levels are adequate for maintaining repair schedule OrdersReorders parts as necessary
Ensures unserviceable andor excess equipment is turned-in and new equipment is received, inspected, inventoried and stored
Prepares and maintains all supply documents and file using ARMIS filing system
Ensures Contingency data base is maintained Enters data, prepares and maintains documentation on all CBRN Defense Equipment, by NSNline number, quantity, size, expiration date or shelf life, quantity required on-hand, quantity on-hand, quantity ordered, date ordered, and date due-in
Provides training to subordinates personnel
Monitors operational readiness rate for CBRN equipment
Establish a CBRN training program for ASG-KU Soldiers and Civilians
Maintain a listing of ASG and DOD civilian personnel currently authorized CBRNE equipment
Provides equipment operator instruction and technical assistance to supported units
Performs quality control inspection on repaired or serviced equipment
Performs other related tasks as directed

MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED

Knowledge of Department of Defense, Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force CBRNE and related equipment requirements
Knowledge of the M41 Protective Assessment Testing Instrument (PATS)
Basic knowledge of industry safety standards is required
Knowledge of military maintenance systems is required
Advanced knowledge of US Army supply procedures, is required

WORK ENVIRONMENT PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Indoor andor outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (ie, hot, dry, dusty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months)
Must be physically capable of lifting 75 pounds a vertical distance of four feet and carrying

this weight a horizontal distance of 25 feet

May be required to work an uncommon schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
Must be able to work extended hours and evenings, as mission requires
Must have professional appearance

Required to observe all safety, security, and health requirements for office, warehouse, and outside environment

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education Certification One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required

High School Diploma and 2-4 years related experience including 0-2 years of management experience is preferred
US Army Advanced NCO Course (ANOC) as a MOS 54B74B Chemical Operations or other service specialty

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of Chemical Operations experience in any branch of the US Armed Forces or equivalent civilian service
Approximately 5 years of experience with military maintenance record keeping methods is required

Intermediate proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook applications is required
High-level organizational and planning skills, so that workflow is managed efficiently and accurately is required
Ability to effectively respond to inquiries or complaints both verbally and in writing
Ability to effectively articulate information to management Ability to use independent judgment in achieving assigned objectives

ClearanceLicense

A valid drivers license, and the ability to obtain a US Government Motor Vehicle Operators License and Kuwait Drivers License, is required
Must be able to maintain CAC and USG Network access privilege
