Description

Responsibilities

Leading a team of Reviewers with an expert knowledge in their discipline (scope, key issuesrisks, key interfacescoordination issues)

Awareness of interdisciplinary design issues (ie how their discipline interfacescoordinates with other disciplines) and raises any issues identified with the Technical Lead

Solutions focused (ie finds solutions not just problems)

Confident communicator who is able to clearly and concisely explain design review to the engineers in both issued a writing or verbally

Providing technical leadership in their discipline at comment resolution meetings (to facilitate resolution of comments)

Maintain focus of design reviews on compliance with construction contract requirements (not personal opinions, preferential engineering etc)

Monitoring of Reviewers and their performance to ensure they are working on the right design reviews at right time

Identify weaknesses in the technical capabilityexperience of Reviewers and advise the Design Review Manager along with recommended actions (eg mentoring, training, replacements)

Providing regular timely constructive feedback to Reviewers and holding them to account for their performance

Drive the Contractors Design delivery and completion for the Discipline to hit the Design Control points milestones

Verify compliance of the Contractors Design to the Contractual requirements and to Internationally recognized Standards

Ensuring qualitycompleteness of design review comments including consolidating duplicate comments and resolving inconsistencies between Reviewers

Enforce a consistency discipline review process across construction contracts (ie same methodologyapproach to all construction contracts irrespective of the Reviewer)

Consistency of design reviews with Design Control Point (DCP) requirements (ie review consistent with the different requirements associated with DCP1, DCP2, DCP3 and DCP3F)

Team leadership experience and working in a multi-disciplinary team
Ability to manage and prioritize workload to achieve milestones and submission dates

Qualifications

BSc in Engineering or equivalent

Minimum 10 years of experience with at least 3 years design on rail projects

Extensive experience of SCADA Systems

Experience in SCADA Designs including RTUs, PLCs, HMI, IO Lists)

Experience in Asset Protection Systems (HBD, HABD, HWD, VMS, WMS)
