Job Description

A Position SummaryThe faculty member is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities The faculty member is responsible for performing assigned duties by the Dean or Program Directors At a minimum, the related activities include instruction, instructional counseling, academic advising, serving on various committees, participating in local, state, regional, and national professional activities and organizations A faculty member performs all other duties as directed the Dean or Program Directors B Organizational ReportingThe faculty member directly reports to the Dean of the College C Essential FunctionsMajor ResponsibilitiesAt a minimum, the essential functions of the faculty member are To coordinate, plan, organize, and instruct courses at undergraduate or graduate programs of EIC To keep active at a high level of expertise in the subjects taught and stimulate enthusiasm for those subjects; To ensure that each programclass contains essential curricular components, has appropriate content and pedagogy, and maintains currency; To recommend textbooks and other instructional materials including classroom and laboratory equipment to Division Chairs; To assist in the colleges library collection development by selecting, evaluating, and weeding library resources in each appropriate discipline; To teach all classes according to an approved course syllabus; To keep students informed and updated concerning course content, requirements, evaluation procedures and attendance requirements; To keep students informed about their progress through the prompt grading of papers and other work; To maintain accurate and complete scholastic records, including attendance records; To accomplish all administrative duties related to teaching (eg course files completeness and review, attendance, etc) as EIC and CAA standards To conduct class evaluations and complete other college evaluations in accordance with college policy; To ensure that assigned classes are held as scheduled; To make suggestions to Program Directors and the Dean concerning the improvement of the curriculum in keeping with the objectives of the college; To participate in program and curriculum review and development and student learning outcomes initiatives; To make use of available college online resources To plan each unit or lesson, both as to content and method, to make each class minute meaningful; To organize each course taught into an effective instrument of learning; To study and utilize students learning styles in each class in order to facilitate the best teaching and learning situations; To incorporate instructional technologies in instructional delivery; To maximize the learning opportunities for each student; To keep informed of current trends and new approaches to instruction via professional development activities; To assist with pre-registration and registration; To demonstrate a genuine concern for each student through personal conferences and the full use of the faculty advisement system; To assist in recruitment and retention of students; To serve as an academic advisor to assigned students; To post and maintain office hours for student consultations; To strive for the qualities delineated in the criteria for faculty evaluation used by the college; To refer students to counselors as needed; To submit required reports to the appropriate college personnel; To attend all faculty meetings and committees, college assemblies, professional development and orientation activities, and other meetings as called by the Dean or Program Directors To become thoroughly familiar with all college policies and procedures and comply with all college policies and procedures; To serve on and provide information to college committees as needed; To be actively involved in the co-curricular activities of the college; To convey college-related information to students in a timely manner as requested by college officials To lead research and or applied research activities in accordance with EIC research agendaD Other ResponsibilitiesAssume other work-related responsibilities as assigned by the Academic Director or Program Directors E Performance EvaluationThe Faculty members job performance will be evaluated in accordance with college policyProfilePhD in Business Administration or ManagementTeaching experience in UAE is an added valueLevel of research experience ( 5 year +)We are only considering candidates who are already in the UAE
