Job Description

The Global Trade Compliance Consultant will lead and direct implementation of trade compliance programs, policies, and procedures, training and internal audit programs to help ensure compliance with import and export regulations This position will serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external inquiries and auditsResponsibilities Strategic planning for clients regional Trade Compliance initiatives in Africa Manage client s process for duty preference claims, including recordkeeping and asset tracking, particularly in French West Africa Manage client s customs consultants and customs brokers to ensure compliant, efficient, and cost effective entry of goods Establish and monitor service providers performance against clearly defined Key Performance Indicator s (KPI s) Provide regulatory interpretation and guidance in the following areas Anti-boycottRestrictive Trade Practices, export Control Classification, Export Licensing, Compliance training, Export Documentation, Tariff Classification, Customs Valuation, Duty Drawback, Reconciliation, Country of Origin Marking, Country of Origin Determination, Recordkeeping, Preference ProgramsFTAs and Customs Clearance Ensure proper product tariff classification and valuation information Develop and maintain customized compliance programs and processes specific to client need Conduct audits to assess the exportimport compliance of client and supporting operating entities Assist in determining and implementing corrective actions where necessary Gather and provide detailed analysis and information which may financially impact sourcing decisions Manage supplier contracts and interface with client s suppliers Identify cost savings opportunities from client data sources Lead numerous ad hoc teams across the organization on a project by project basis Continuously evaluate current processes and recommend relevant changes or improvements to increase efficiencyproductivityCompetencies French and English languages required Issue resolution experience Leadership skills Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access Integrity Written and verbal communication skills Ability to multitask Flexibility Prioritization skills Active listening Decision making abilities Problem solving skills Planning and organizational skills Data analysis skills Project management Excellent customer service Pays attention to details Eager to learn and grow Hardworking, dependable, reliable, dedicated, and committed Positive attitude Proactively takes initiative and seeks opportunities for process improvement Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills Effective time management and prioritization skills Self-motivated, independent
