JOB DESCRIPTIONSkills and Knowledge1 Must have practical working knowledge of Electrical Theory2 Must be able to use common electrical equipmenttools such as meggers, multimeters and ohmmeters3 Must be able to perform basic checks for continuity, resistance, voltage, shorts, opens and grounds4 Must be able to install and test engine and generator batteries5 Must be able to install and test various lighting fixtures, electric panels and sensors6 Must be able to read and interpret block diagrams, schematics and drawings7 Must be able to assemble and disassemble equipment such as electric motors andgenerators8 Must be able to install cable glands and a terminate cablesResponsibility1 Performs routine installation, removal and or repair of electrical items as directed by Foreman2 Troubleshoots and repairs electrical equipment3 Assist vendor representatives in installation and testing of electrical systems4 Fabricates and installs cable tray assemblies according to ADSB standardsExperience1 2 years experience as an Electrician in a ship building or ship repair environmentElectrical Trade School
