Bridges, Project Management, Security Services, Building Structures & Services and Asset Management PlanningAbout the opportunityJacobs is looking for a Resident Engineer (Facilities), to join one our Rail projects in UAE The successful candidate will work as an integrated member of the Construction Supervision team We are looking for a professional who will ensure client satisfaction and help strengthen our project delivery capabilitiesThe successful applicant should possess the following skills and experienceThe Resident Engineer provides oversight of the construction supervision of the projects to ensure that the design documentation is safely and accurately implemented on site, and that the requirements of the construction contract are followedPerform the duties of the Resident Engineer on siteManagement and direction of a team of Engineers for the construction supervision projectsProvide technical and contractual advice for all of the projects, as well as resource managementResponsible for overall project delivery and client liaisonBuilds a trusted relationship with the management team and with the clients counterpart staffEstablishes an appropriate working relationship with the contractorsPlaces an emphasis on safe construction practices (Beyond Zero) and on maintaining a high quality of construction Leads by example in driving safe practices on siteUses effective project management and controls systems to regularly report on progress to the management teamMonitors progress of construction against the programme and takes steps to ensure the programme is achievedEnsures that the project quality control procedures are used for the Constructions supervision works and monitors it for improvementKey requirements for the rolePrevious experience as a Resident Engineer or similar role for rail facilities such as yellow plant, freight stations yards, maintenance facilities, fuel stations and buildingsMinimum 15 years post graduate experience in site supervision and construction management of major infrastructure projectsDegree in Civil Engineering from an internationally recognized and accredited university, Chartered Engineering qualification preferredFully understand the aspects of site supervision and construction management of Rail projectsBe enthusiastic about improving the safety performance of site operationsBe able to communicate effectively with site teams and motivate them to meet the project objectivesGood leadership skills and be able to work in a multi-cultural and multi-discipline teamExcellent communication and report writing skills, and good presentation skills in EnglishA key attribute of this person will be the ability to foster inclusive behaviours to achieve market
