Job Description

We are looking for SMO Specialist

Responsible for detailed evaluation and internal reviews of information systems Ensure that practices comply with policy and procedures Promote efficient practices by recommending improvements in existing controls to meet business objectives


Works with a cross functional teams to provide IT Service Management expertise using established frameworks, such as the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)

Consults with business owners to identify areas of process improvements using industry standard methodologies, such as Six Sigma

Candidate will manage established processes (Asset management, Incident and Problem Management, Change Management) that span multiple teams, finding improvements and documenting processes

There will also be reporting and collection of data from those processes as they are run

Works with internal process owners and technical leads to improve inter and intra-process integration and business alignment including; defining roles and responsibilities; assisting with operational level agreements; defining policies, processes, and procedures; and recommends the priority of adopting identified changes

Perform various other reviews of IT management policies and procedures such as change management, business continuity planning disaster recovery and to ensure that controls surrounding these processes are adequate

Complete all assigned work in a timely and accurate manner

Build and maintain effective working relationships, and maintain a service-oriented approach in the delivery of work

Specialized expertise IT Service Management (ITIL) required

Demonstrated experience in process design and process improvement

Sound IT technical knowledge as well as fundamental knowledge in areas of Information Security, Project Management, IT Governance

Advanced knowledge of IT Service Delivery and Governance Frameworks (eg, ITIL, COBIT, ISO, etc)
Advanced knowledge of IT financial management

processes; and basic knowledge of financial management accounting principles

Excellent organizational, project coordination, analytical, and interpersonal skills to develop, document and implement improvement processes and to transfer ongoing responsibility to department staff

Excellent time management skills to balance various work requirements, prioritize project deliverables, identify and resolve issues, and report status

Excellent written and oral communication skills, and an ability to convey Service Management principles and influence adoption of its accompanying organizational, cultural, and technological change

Bachelors degree in related IT field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and job-related experience equal to 5 - 7 years

ITIL Practitioner certification in one or more disciplines is required (Expert level preferred)
ISO 20000, Six Sigma or COBIT certification is highly desirable

Experience working in cross-departmental teams and leading efforts through collaboration and influence is required

Demonstrated ability to stay current on technology and industry practices

Strong written communication skills and the ability to produce material to sufficiently communicate at all levels of the organization
