Job Title Supervisor Aquatics Operation - La Mer Company Name Dubai Parks and Resorts Location Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) Job Summary The Supervisor Aquatics Operation will take overall management of the La Mer Waterpark team of lifeguards, the individual will lead, coach, motivate, support, maintain and continually improve and uphold the safe operational delivery of the facility They will ensure that the company standards and values are met and developed through working relationships with all wider levels They will provide direction to the La Mer Waterpark team through departmental supervisory team and will implement procedures and training to nurture a behavior where the health and safety of our guests and staff is of paramount importance Key Duties and Responsibilities As a lifeguard instructor, you will ensure the highest level of lifeguarding standards are observed to maintain zero drowning in the water park Responding to any emergency that may arise within an area of operations supervision as per the guidelines of the emergency action plan Working alongside key operational stakeholders of the waterpark facility to ensure all standards and KPIs are met Support the line Manager in ensuring risk assessments are carried out in line with procedures and are updated regularly as ongoing live documents Support line Manager in delivering weekly and monthly meetings with direct team and attend weekly meeting with senior team Establish and maintain effective lines of communication throughout the department by providing operational presence Work closely with MarketingRevenue Management teams to communicate occupancyoffers etc Contribute to La Mer Dynamic Events, supporting the operational team as and when necessary Exceed guest expectations through ensuring Operations team deliver to agreed service standards Show a well-developed sensitivity to customer needs by continually monitoring employee and guest interaction and acting on departmental results such as Mystery Shopper and customer satisfaction scores Working with line Manager to ensure that staff working schedules are both fully covered and stay within budgetary constraints Ensures recruitment is appropriate to business operation and continually monitors key indicators (turnover, absence etc) and ensures that, in liaison with other departments, we support and develop the team Working with line Manager to assist in the submission and management of future capital projects and expenditure to the Operations Manager Recommend and develop new productsways of working to improve profitability, including maximizingconverting upselling opportunities Manage OPEX wages and line items to achieve budgets set You are responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within their department You must ensure that risk assessments have been carried out, that safe working procedures are in place for all work activities and that all employees under their management are aware of the Group Health, Safety and Security Policy and their obligations under it Ensure that safe working practices are monitored and that risk assessments and procedures are reviewed regularly Where incidents do occur, You must ensure that they are investigated appropriately and that where necessary, corrective action is taken to ensure that such incidents are not repeated Monitor proposed and actual changes to current legislation and ensure company compliance Set and agree individual department objectives in line with the business strategy and team development Conduct lifeguard training courses, in-service, and in-house audits Give regular performance feedback to subordinates and ensure company performance management standards are maintained Motivate, manage and develop the team in line with company standards and values Apply positive performance management effectively throughout the team and minimize the challenges to the team Qualifications, Skills and Experience The applicant should have completed High School or Equivalent At least three years experience, two of which years managing team leaders Previous Lifeguard Instructordepartmental trainer experience beneficial Strong understanding of the creation and management of risk assessments, SOPs and EAPs within a waterpark or theme park environment Requires the ability to make objective decisions quickly under stressful conditions, adapting to new demands and situations while remaining calm Fluent English in both oral and written, Arabic language skills are beneficial Able to swim 200 meters in less than 4 minutes 30 seconds Able to retrieve a brick from a depth of 3 meters Able to tread water with their hands above the water line for 2 minutes and hands under the water for 3 minutes
